My cake came with a package from my wedding venue. My initial consultation with Amber was awesome, she drew out our cake and the tasting was delicious. However there was a switch of ownership about a couple of months before my wedding. I spoke with the new owner about the size of my cake and the banding needed for my cake, she said it would be smaller than originally stated by the previous owner, and if i didn't add a dummy layer (for an additional cost of course) it would look funny. This of course stressed me out as bride. Her attitude was extremely rude. I would no longer speak directly to her but let my Venue staff speak with her. Long story short, my cake arrived damaged to the venue, my family and groom was outraged, and worried (they didn't tell me until after the wedding). My Hostess told me that the delivery staff said they picked up the cake damaged from the baker and they tried their best to fix the damage. The cake did taste good. The only reason for the 2 stars under quality of service. However, when the new owner was contacted her response was very unprofessional. She was unwilling to give any compensation or admit that she was in the wrong. I would not use her service again or refer her to anyone.

This company produces good cakes. If there had been a rating category for the quality of the end product (i.e. the cake), we would have given them a 3 in that category. However, while their cake is good, their customer service is absolutely terrible. They repeatedly failed to follow through with what they said they would do. And two days before the wedding they called to confirm the cake details and they had the order wrong! To make things worse, they did not return calls to make sure the order was corrected. We were left to wait and see what would showed up at the reception. Not the kind of extra stress a bride needs. And during a call with Justin (the owner) we were told that because he had spent half an hour on the phone with us (trying to correct their error), he was not going to make a profit on our cake for 145 people. I don't know whether or not he was able to make a profit on our cake but I do know that based upon our expecience with Justin he neither understands nor believes in good customer service. If you want a cake and don't mind very poor service this might be the place for you. But there are too many other vendors that understand how much good service means to customers.

Cake Affairs created our wedding cake and groom's cake. Both cakes were decorated fabulously, especially the Playstation groom's cake. The cakes were delivered on time and just as requested.

I loved my cake! It was beautiful and delicious! I wish I could post a picture for you! Their icing is yummy! Everyone complimented me on the cake. I would recommend them to anyone! They are very professional and remind me of one of those cake shows on TV. They can make just about anything AND it will taste good!!

From what I hear, our cake was very good! I did not get to taste it since I was so busy the entire night, but people are still asking who made our wedding cake.

Our wedding cake was included as part of the package with our reception vendor - so they were the ones who sent us to Cake Affairs & Culinary Creations. We couldn't have been happier! We met with them for a tasting and design consultation - all the flavors were so delicious, but we decided on the almond cake with caramel flavored filling for the wedding cake covered in buttercream. I had found photos of some cakes posted online that I liked and took them to the appointment. With their help, we were able to piece together different elements from different photos to create our cake design. My husband isn't so much into cake, but mentioned that he absolutely loves cheesecake. The baker was present (a husband & wife team) and told us he makes a great cheesecake, so for the groom's cake we had a 2-tiered cheesecake covered in chocolate ganache and chocolate covered strawberries (dressed as tuxedos). When we saw the cakes at the reception, we were amazed! They were both so perfect! And once we cut into them, maaaaaan were they delicious. These guys definitely hit the nail on the head!

When we went for the tasting my fiance wasn't as impressed, because of that we didn't get the grooms cake; but the day of the wedding it was fabulous! We didn't even get to try an entire piece. The guests loved it!

Amber and her team did an amazing job on our wedding and groom's cake. Both of our cakes were absolutely beautiful and delicious! They went above and beyond to create a unique groom's cake shaped like my husbands old 1972 buick skylark. It looks incredible and he was very pleased with it! Such a wonderful team of people to work with and would highly recommend to anyone in the future for any type of cake!

Cake Affairs & Culinary Creations performed amazing artwork for our chess board groom cake, and beautiful elegance for our oval shaped wedding cake. The cakes tasted just as delicious as they were beautiful. We paired with gelato - all I can say "heavenly"! Excellent service - only one appt. and will got all of the details down and squared away for the wedding. In deciding/building our cakes at the appt., Amber and Justin's creative minds went to work and made artful suggestions that produced our amazing cakes. We brought images of Cake affairs's work, and that was very helpful - even let us know when we were proposing cakes out of our original pricing. Amber was consistently responsive to my emails and easy to schedule appts. I did not witness the delivery- but obviously no issues as the cakes were flawless, beautiful, and delicious! Thanks again.

They were not friendly to work with. They never answered their phones. My cake was part of a package with my reception and i have zero options. Everything is an extra fee of $50 or $100. Their book does not give you many ideas and their cake tasted like it came out of a box - i was so disappointmented in the options I had. The cake did come on time and it looked nice but I would use a different vendor

Cake affair did a wonderful job on both our wedding cake and the groom’s cake. The caking tasted amazing and was so moist. We received so many compliments on the cake from many of our guest and have even had people ask for their contact info. The groom’s cake looked so real that people didn't realize it was a cake. Our friends and family still talk about it. The process of choosing what we wanted was so easy. The cake testing cake was dry and very cold so we were worried but was so impressed with the end result. You wouldn't be disappointed choosing them! Thanks Cake Creations!!!!

Cake Affairs was the cake vendor that was part of the Hotel Derek package. If you got a cake from Cake Affairs that was simple then you didn't really have to pay an additional fee since it was all part of the package. Now, the cake they turned out for us was delicious! It was really moist and I know several of my guests had a few slices! However, I was not as satisfied as I could have been with how the cake was decorated. I had shown them a cake with branches that were made in fondant so that it stood up on its own on the cake. It also had little pink flowers made of fondant. They promised me they could replicate something like that and was charging me $176 to do so. (That's why I'm giving 3 stars for value). However...when I saw the cake...they did use fondant cherry blossoms but they had just piped an ugly branch with brown icing which was not how I wanted it at all. O well... Another thing is they're very slow to respond. I wouldn't hear from them for a week or two weeks at a time. And whenever you call, you get an answering machine so you have to leave a message and wait for them to call you back. It was pretty frustrating when it was getting down to the wire. So you might want to reconsider using Cake Affairs if you're getting the Hotel Derek package. The cake is definitely delicious...but you might not want to deal with the headache of trying to get in touch with someone.

I only have one complaint about this company, aside from a beautiful, delicious, well-decorated wedding cake. Upon consultation, we wanted red velvet as our bottom layer of our cake, which would cost us $75 out of pocket. They asked if my fiance and I wanted to pay then, or later. Since my mother was due to cover the cost, we asked to pay later. We knew that there was payment due at that time, but never received a bill or reminder call. We were unaware that the invoice hadn't been paid until we cut our cake and saw a chocolate bottom layer! That being said, we would have appreciated a phone call reminding us to pay the invoice. Aside from that, everyone loved the cake, and it was decorated beautifully, and they were easy to work with, especially as we had a florist bringing in flowers to use in the cake. It was beautiful and the icing and cake were delicious, with the inside being very moist. My mom even raved about the chocolate!
