Courtyard on St James

Our ceremony and reception at the Courtyard far exceeded our expectations! From our first meeting with our coordinator, Christiana, to the evening of the event, she was attentive, responsible, extremely helpful and very pleasant to work with. My daughter lives in Colorado and my husband and I are here in Houston. Christiana was extremely with all of us. Everytihing discussed and planned was carried out to perfection. There was nothing left in question. I worried about NOTHING The staff that evening was tremendous; very courteous, porfessional and helpful.The courtyard outside was beautifully set up and the inside was elegant. The food was delicous, served hot (sit down dinner), quickly and profesionally. Every guest was graciously attended to.I am the mother of the bride and I am still going through wedding withdrawal. I look back at that evening and can truly say it was flawless. I just wish we could do all over again! I would recommended the Courtyard to anyone wanting a perfect site for a beautiful and elegant affair.

We had a great experience with Courtyard on St. James. Lori was our wedding coordinator. She helped us select our wedding menu by sharing with us suggestions. We feared rain for our May 2011 wedding date but it held out for us. The set up was beautiful and went very smoothly. I recommend booking early as they were offering a special promotion on linens when we booked. Every discount helps.The staff was gracious and helpful. There was one bartender that was not friendly with our young guests. Our guest were pretty wild that night so I imagine they wore him down.

Amazing! Absolutely amazing! Lori, our day of planner was awesome. She thought of everything and even took care of things she could tell I didn't want to worry about. The venue itself was beautiful. We had the garden room and had the ceremony outside. Ceremony was beautiful with the ivy background. The garden room was set up perfectly and they were very accomodaing for my random table arrangement requests ( I wanted the headtable to hold about 20 people and had some tables with 9 chairs and some with 8). They got everything right. Everyone raved about the food. We took home the left overs and ate wedding food for days! Even our DJ mentioned how awesome the salad is with out our mentioning it! We added the mash potatoe martinis and they were delishious and a big hit! Food wise we went with the fish and prime rib. Everything we tasted at the tasting was delicious but we decided against the chicken as we heard it can get rubbery when made in mass. Over all highly recommended.

You will love The Courtyard on St. James Place. There just is not a prettier venue out there and the location is fabulous. This venue is also very affordable and the food is great. They are a resturant during the day for lunch and a wedding venue on the weekends so the food is all prepared the day of your wedding just a few hours before the guest arrive! The Courtyard is seriously an easy choice and has been ranked top 5 best places in Houston for a ceremony & reception venue in multiple wedding magazine's. The wait staff is just amazing, they are the sweetest people and willing to do anything to make it perfect for you. The only reason I ranked 3.5 on quality of service is because my linen's were reversed. I wanted black table linen's with white chairs and it was just the opposite. Mind you I never noticed until a week later when I was looking at pictures so it still looked beautiful. I ranked 3.5 for responsiveness only because they can be hard to communicate with via e-mail. They are always really easy to reach over the phone though. My soon to be sister-n-law is using this venue because she loved it when she was at our wedding!

I held my reception at the Courtyard on St. James and it was perfect! I loved that there was a combination of outdoor and indoor space and the food was excellent! They were wonderful and easy to work with and come highly recommended from this bride!

I loved my wedding at Courtyard on St. James. We originally chose this venue because of the beautiful courtyard we would be able to use for the ceremony. We loved the location (Galleria area) and it worked within our price range. I had only two minor issues with the venue. The first one was the responsiveness of my coordinator. She was great in person, but wasn't always the best with email correspondence. I was pretty low maintenance so this wasn't a huge deal for me. When it came time for the actual wedding she was amazing. I had so many compliments from my guests on how organized everything was, and that was entirely due to my coordinator. I felt a bit frazzled, but she made sure everything ran smoothly all night long. The other issue I had was not really the venue's fault. Our guest count ended up being much lower than expected. There is a food and drink minimum that became a challenge to meet. Our coordinator worked with us to try to find the best way to add additional food/drink items to meet the minimum and in the end we were relatively happy. I think if we had known in advance that our wedding was going to have 75 people instead of 100+ we probably would not have booked it due to value for the cost because of the food and drink minimum.

Absolutely outstanding. Look no further! All of our guests were extremely complimentary of the ceremony and reception which both took place at the Courtyard. The food and service was impeccable and the staff (particularly Lori, our coordinator) were all amazing...true professionals. The cost was very competitive with hotels we looked at in the area and we had also attended another wedding prior to ours that was equally wonderful. - The Grays

I loved our reception venue. Christiana was our coordinator and she was awesome. So easy to work with. Food is amazing and our ballroom was just perfect. I was really pleased with everything.

I loved the feel & location of the venue, then when I met all the wonderful staff I knew it was the perfect place for me. It was the perfect mix outdoor and indoor, becasue I wanted the best of both worlds! The ceremony was outside and the reception was both in and out. There are windows and doors right there so if you happen to be outside you wouldn't miss anything. You could see the cake cutting, dances, boquet and garter toss, etc. They let us have two open bars one in and one out and when we said we wanted to bring in a vintage cigarette girl to hand out cigars they were happy to let us do so! Also, they have a fabulous wine cellar that can be used, which was our backup plan if there were rain and he said we could smoke in there if we wanted, they would pull strings. They were AWESOME!

I loved my venue from the moment I visited. Everything went well for my wedding except there were other wedding before mine and during and I didn't like that. Also, my wedding coordinator left for the evening early when my wedding was still going on. She said everything would be taken care of but nobody else tried to talk to me (a back up coordinator or employee of the venue). Other than that, everything went well.

The Courtyard was a perfect reception venue and Christiana was a joy to work with! She allowed us to alter our reception menu to our liking and even went out of her way to order my stepmom a case of her favorite champagne! The night of the wedding everything was set up perfectly and the whole evening flowed smoothly. Beautiful venue and wonderful staff!

PERFECT! I highly recommend this venue. I loved The Courtyard the moment I visited it. Lori was wonderful to work with! She went above and beyond our expectations.The night of our reception Lori was there every step of it. The moment we arrived at the Courtyard Lori brought us drinks. She kept everything on schedule during the reception. She also made sure we actually ate dinner and enjoyed the night with family and friends. Family and friends are still talking about how amazing the food was and how incredible the night was. I cannot speak highly enough of Lori and her team at the Courtyard. It truly was a fairy tale wedding.

Overall, St. James was the perfect venue for our wedding for 225 guests. Easily, it was the best choice we made during the wedding planning. We used the larger courtyard for our ceremony, and feared the 60% chance of rain on the wedding day, but the weather turned out, and the courtyard was exactly the atmosphere that we were looking for. The reception space indoors is lovely, tastefully appointed and neutral, and melded so well with the decor we brought in. It looked amazing. Everything from the Courtyard fell into place on the day of perfectly thanks to the well-versed staff. Our venue coordinator was Lori, and she took excellent care of us through the whole process from the first visit, taste-testing and final meeting to making sure we knew everything at the rehearsal and keeping us on track for the big day. They did such a good job running the show that we, as the bride and groom, literally felt stress-free during the wedding, which is quite a feat! Moreover, guests raved about our food and the bellinis. Highly recommend this venue.

Everyone at the Courtyard was extremely helpful during the entire planning process and on the day of my wedding, they worked like a well-oiled machine! Everything was perfect! It really was a dream come true and I had the time of my life! I couldn't have asked for anything better!

The courtyard was amazing!!! The wedding turned out beautiful. Scott was the most helpful and easy going coordinator!!!! He did the best job ever!

The venue itself is gorgeous for our evening wedding and the coordinators were extremely helpful. The food was disappointing though.

ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL!! I would HIGHLY recommend The Courtyard on St. James! From the moment we first met with our planner, Scott Konitzer, we were in good hands. Scott took care of all requests that we had and was able to work around anything that we could come up with. One of the other benefits of using Scott as a coordinator was that he knows so many contacts in the business. He was familiar with both my florist and my cake designer - which I believe helped the day go off without a single hitch. He was always available and there to answer any questions. The night of our reception Scott came through again. From the moment I arrived at the Courtyard Scott came out to the car to see if I wanted something to drink. Just a small thing but I will remember it becauase I was really thirsty. :-) Scott then was so kind and thoughtful with the way that he kept us on schedule during the reception. He made sure we actually ate dinner and enjoyed the night with family and friends. Everyone is still talking about how delicious the food was and how amazing the night was. I cannot speak highly enough of Scott and his team at the Courtyard. They truly are the best!
