Courtyard on St James

I was thoroughly pleased with the Courtyard and our wedding coordinator Lori. She made the process incredibly fun and stress free! The whole evening flowed seemlessly and I wouldn't have changed a thing. I've already heard such positive feedback from our guests about how elegant the venue was. It photographs beautifully in pictures and it's perfect for an indoor/outdoor ceremony and reception. Their food is exceptional, no questions asked! Our event was in the larger ballroom and it's very flexible in its decor and can be easily decorated to your taste. I am very pleased with my experience at the Courtyard on St. James Place and would very much recommend having your wedding there.

loved my venue, everything about it. The outside is beautiful for pictures and the inside is just as beautiful. Kyle (my coordinator) was awesome. She responded quickly to emails and was very sweet during the whole wedding planning process. The food was delicious. We had the brunch buffet, and all of my family enjoyed it.

Everything that everyone else here has said is completely true! From the very beginning, the entire experience (planning a wedding in 1 month) was amazing, due to the AMAzing job that Ashley, our coordinator did. She was very attentive, responsive to emails and calls, flexible with the details....even the last minute ones. The food was fantastic, the staff very attentive, and did I mention...Ashley? The day of the wedding was CRAZY, and she handled each issue with ease and grace. Totally worth the price, beautiful location....I just can't say enough.

We had our wedding reception in the Garden Room on April 14th. We loved the indoor/outdoor space. It was absolutely perfect! Lori Evans was our coordinator and she made the whole process such a breeze. Everyone at the Courtyard was professional, easy to work with, and full of great ideas to make our reception even better. The food was excellent! We chose to serve the standard buffet and bar package. Great value for the money. My dad told me that he received a ton of compliments on how delicious everything was and how great the venue looked, and we only added flowers. The Garden Room is a perfect space for under 150 guests. Ask for Lori...you won't be disappointed!

My husband and I had our ceremony and reception here on April 6, 2012! I wanted a venue that took care of everything since I didn't have a wedding planner and a place that I could get married outside and have the flexibility to have guests inside and outside if needed for the reception. THis was the place! We definitely got our money's worth from this venue. Everyone at the Courtyard was SO amazing and the place is beautiful ! I would without ANY hesitation recommend them for your wedding. My first tour was with Lori she was super nice and informative, she had no problems with helping us stay in budget and find the perfect date. Once we changed our date Kyle took over and it was seamless. She answered all of my emails promptly, met with me whenever I needed and was exceptionally professional yet warm and kind. My husband and I enjoyed our wedding SO much! We got so many compliments on food and service! We have only good things to say!

Is there a rating above 5? Because Lori and the staff at Courtyard absolutely deserve it! I work as a catering manager at a hotel in Dallas, so I had a long checkliest I was looking for when searching for a venue. My ceremony and reception were held here on March 31st - The wedding was outside in the picturesque outdoor garden and the reception was upstairs in the Garden Room. From the moment we walked in to meet with Lori for the first time, I could perfectly imagine how it would look and feel for the big day, and everything was exactly as i imagined. The venue came highly recommended from any vendor I worked with. From step one, through countless emails, our tasting, the rehearsal, and the day-of, Lori was there to answer questions, make recommendations and ensure everything went smoothly. The tasting was impossible because there were too many delicious things to choose from. The day of the event, the only thing I kept hearing people say was "Best Wedding Ever." The food, the atmosphere, the service, the drinks... EVERYTHING was exceptional. Thank you a million times over!

I love the Courtyard on St. James Place!!!! From start to finish they were helpful, professional, and courteous. The level of support they offered throughout the wedding planning process was fantastic. I was so pleased with how our wedding day turned out. It was beautiful! The food at the Courtyard was some of the best I've ever tasted! I really didn't have high expectations, as catered events tend to have sub par food, but this food was phenomenal. The food was so good that we have been back to dine at the Courtyard for lunch twice! I'm still getting compliments on how efficient and professional the staff and crew at the Courtyard were.

I a wedding photographer in the Houston Katy area... We had the pleasure of shooting a clients wedding, there at the courtyard on St James. It was a rainy day and the bride wanted so badly to get married outside. The coordinator really knew what she was doing, after a few ideas were tossed around she came up with exactly what the bride wanted. A ceremony outside without the guests getting wet.. It was beautiful. It would have been easier for her to put what was convinient for her ahead of what the bride wanted. That never crossed her mind. As her and her staff ran around making dreams come true you could tell, what the bride wanted was the #1 priority. I have worked at literally hundreds of venues, but I have never seen a staff so focused on making the bride happy. Later I found out they were doing 2 very large events that evening. I would have never known. I never saw a guest who wasn't in our party. The food was on time and delicious. Everything went along so wonderfully. Thank you Courtyard at St James for making what could have been a horribly crazy day into a complete joy. My bride couldn't be happier and for good reasons. Thanks again. My wedding had been planned outdoors and 2 days before it the weather forcast changed and the entire weekend was raining non-stop. We contacted our venue the night before and they arranged the ceremony to happen indoors. It was beautiful and we had a great time. This place is very attentive to details, they even packed lunch and cake for me and my husban at the end of the day in case we had not had a chance to eat! I loved this venue.

Loved the location and the courtyard was still green and beautiful even in early February. The food was very good. The food and alcohol package was kind of expensive but everything tasted great, and they had great servers. The only complaint that I have was that my new iPhone got stolen out of my dressing room, and no guests were in that area of the venue so pretty sure it was a staff member.

My wedding was everything I imagined it being thanks to the wonderful staff at the Courtyard! The ceremonies and reception were stunning and the food was delicious. Guests continue to tell me what a wonderful venue it was and how much they enjoyed the whole night! It really was the best place for our wedding and went perfectly with our "theme". I couldn't have asked for more, the staff at Courtyard, especially the specialist I worked with (Lori), went above and beyond to make it an incredibly beautiful event.

Our ceremony and reception at the Courtyard far exceeded our expectations! From our first meeting with our coordinator, Christiana, to the evening of the event, she was attentive, responsible, extremely helpful and very pleasant to work with. My daughter lives in Colorado and my husband and I are here in Houston. Christiana was extremely with all of us. Everytihing discussed and planned was carried out to perfection. There was nothing left in question. I worried about NOTHING The staff that evening was tremendous; very courteous, porfessional and helpful. The courtyard outside was beautifully set up and the inside was elegant. The food was delicous, served hot (sit down dinner), quickly and profesionally. Every guest was graciously attended to. I am the mother of the bride and I am still going through wedding withdrawal. I look back at that evening and can truly say it was flawless. I just wish we could do all over again! I would recommended the Courtyard to anyone wanting a perfect site for a beautiful and elegant affair.

We had a great experience with Courtyard on St. James. Lori was our wedding coordinator. She helped us select our wedding menu by sharing with us suggestions. We feared rain for our May 2011 wedding date but it held out for us. The set up was beautiful and went very smoothly. I recommend booking early as they were offering a special promotion on linens when we booked. Every discount helps. The staff was gracious and helpful. There was one bartender that was not friendly with our young guests. Our guest were pretty wild that night so I imagine they wore him down.

Amazing! Absolutely amazing! Lori, our day of planner was awesome. She thought of everything and even took care of things she could tell I didn't want to worry about. The venue itself was beautiful. We had the garden room and had the ceremony outside. Ceremony was beautiful with the ivy background. The garden room was set up perfectly and they were very accomodaing for my random table arrangement requests ( I wanted the headtable to hold about 20 people and had some tables with 9 chairs and some with 8). They got everything right. Everyone raved about the food. We took home the left overs and ate wedding food for days! Even our DJ mentioned how awesome the salad is with out our mentioning it! We added the mash potatoe martinis and they were delishious and a big hit! Food wise we went with the fish and prime rib. Everything we tasted at the tasting was delicious but we decided against the chicken as we heard it can get rubbery when made in mass. Over all highly recommended.

You will love The Courtyard on St. James Place. There just is not a prettier venue out there and the location is fabulous. This venue is also very affordable and the food is great. They are a resturant during the day for lunch and a wedding venue on the weekends so the food is all prepared the day of your wedding just a few hours before the guest arrive! The Courtyard is seriously an easy choice and has been ranked top 5 best places in Houston for a ceremony & reception venue in multiple wedding magazine's. The wait staff is just amazing, they are the sweetest people and willing to do anything to make it perfect for you. The only reason I ranked 3.5 on quality of service is because my linen's were reversed. I wanted black table linen's with white chairs and it was just the opposite. Mind you I never noticed until a week later when I was looking at pictures so it still looked beautiful. I ranked 3.5 for responsiveness only because they can be hard to communicate with via e-mail. They are always really easy to reach over the phone though. My soon to be sister-n-law is using this venue because she loved it when she was at our wedding!

I held my reception at the Courtyard on St. James and it was perfect! I loved that there was a combination of outdoor and indoor space and the food was excellent! They were wonderful and easy to work with and come highly recommended from this bride!

I loved my wedding at Courtyard on St. James. We originally chose this venue because of the beautiful courtyard we would be able to use for the ceremony. We loved the location (Galleria area) and it worked within our price range. I had only two minor issues with the venue. The first one was the responsiveness of my coordinator. She was great in person, but wasn't always the best with email correspondence. I was pretty low maintenance so this wasn't a huge deal for me. When it came time for the actual wedding she was amazing. I had so many compliments from my guests on how organized everything was, and that was entirely due to my coordinator. I felt a bit frazzled, but she made sure everything ran smoothly all night long. The other issue I had was not really the venue's fault. Our guest count ended up being much lower than expected. There is a food and drink minimum that became a challenge to meet. Our coordinator worked with us to try to find the best way to add additional food/drink items to meet the minimum and in the end we were relatively happy. I think if we had known in advance that our wedding was going to have 75 people instead of 100+ we probably would not have booked it due to value for the cost because of the food and drink minimum.

Absolutely outstanding. Look no further! All of our guests were extremely complimentary of the ceremony and reception which both took place at the Courtyard. The food and service was impeccable and the staff (particularly Lori, our coordinator) were all amazing...true professionals. The cost was very competitive with hotels we looked at in the area and we had also attended another wedding prior to ours that was equally wonderful. - The Grays
