I would NEVER recommend Linen Designs to a future bride! Blanca runs her business from home, and should not be considered a professional! On mywedding.com, I saw an ad for Linens Designs and since it was close to my neighborhood I thought I would go check it out. When I got there, I was surprised to see it was a house, but figured I would give it a chance since I was already there. Blanca seemed so nice and flexible, and was willing to give me any price on the linens to make you rent from her. That should have been my first red flag. The linens she shows you at her home, are not the quality of linens you will be getting on your wedding day. Do no let her fool you! She gave me a paper with the prices she was offering and I said I would take it home to think about it. Only 2 days later I emailed her to tell her that I decided to go with her for my linens, and I would stop by that day to put a down payment and get a contract. When I get there, my contract was not written and she took out some notebook paper to write down my total with a PENCIL! Not only that, the prices were not what we discussed. Once, we got that straightened out, I asked her to email me a typed contract the next day. I ended up getting the contract almost 2 weeks later! I had tried emailing and calling her and got no response back in between that time. Then, we set an appointment to meet to make the final payment, and when I showed up she was not home. Her 13 year old son(just a guess) answered and was there to take the payment and write my receipt! Should have been another red flag! Anyways, my wedding gets closer and she tells me I can pick up my linens on Thursday night(my wedding was on Saturday). I go Thursday to pick up the linens from her with a couple of my bridesmaids, and when I get there all of the chair cover and sashes and table runners are what looks to be nicely folded in a BOX for me. I had no idea until I was told by my reception planner that linen companies are suppose to have all you linens on a hanger for you! Some of the chair covers were out of the box to show me before I took them. I quickly realize the next day that those few that were out of the box to show me, were used to trick me into believing that is what they all looked like!
Friday morning, myself, my maid of honor, and my mom headed to the reception site(Northgate Country Club its perfect for wedding receptions) to put out our linens for the reception the next day. As we start putting on the chair covers, sashes, and table runners my heart basically stopped. To start, none of the linens matched. They were different shades of brown and blues, some were silky and others were cloth, and some were longer than the others. Half of the linens had stains and were frayed on the end. And the WORST of it all, NONE IF THE LINENS WERE IRONED! It literally looked like she had bundled up all the linens and made a bed out of it and her and her 13 year old son slept on them the night before. It was absolutely ridiculous! When Misty, the event coordinator at northgate who is absolutely awesome, saw the linens she couldn't believe it. She said in all her years of planning weddings, she had never seen such terrible linens! Then when I tried calling Blanca to complain, she wouldn't answer (I tried 4 times in a row), then I called from the country clubs phone and she coincedentally answers! When I explain that nothing has been ironed and nothing matches, Blanca explains that if I want her to come out and fix it that I would have to pay THREE-HUNDRED DOLLARS! Once Misty saw how upset I was getting, she took over the phone call and explained how horrible the display of linens made her "so-called" business look and that she needed to come fix them. Blanca at first still refused and said I got what I paid for, but then siad she would come out and fix them all later that afternoon. Well, I get a call later that afternoon and SHOCKER, she lied. She never came to fix them. Misty called her again to see what happened, and she claimed she would come fix them the next morning. Another SHOCKER, she lied again. So it was the day of my wedding, which is already stressful enough, and on top of everything I'm balling my eyes out about the linens! Luckily, I had and awesome wedding coordinator who stepped up and fixed what she could of the linens herself! Well, my wedding was still great with the horrible linens staring at me the entire reception and always in the back of my mind!
The next day , my husband and I left for our honeymoon and my dad went to drop off the linens to Blanca, and also gave her a piece of his mind about how awful they were. She told him that she would give me a full refund and send me a check in the mail. Ready for the final SHOCKER...yes, I am still waiting on that check 5 months later! She lied again.
The only piece of advice I have for future brides is to stay as far away from Linen Designs and Blanca as possible. She is a liar, and one of the most unprofessional people I have ever worked with. She almost ruined my wedding, and did not seem to have one ounce of remorse or sympathy about it! Do not do business with her!
Working with Blanca was the most stressful part of wedding planning. At first she seemed very professional, flexible, and friendly. Booking her became the biggest nightmare. After we booked, she took up to 2 weeks to respond to calls and emails. Then she told me she didn't have the color I ordered less than 2 weeks before my wedding. I ended up have to find another vendor who carried the color I needed. When we received the half of the order she could get there were stains the table linen. She is economic, but You get what you pay for
